Silver Lover

For as long as I remember I have preferred silver toned accessories and jewelry over gold.  While I do wear gold whenever I wear my silver there is something comforting in its cool tones.  For a long time I actually refused to wear gold and concentrated all my attention towards silver.  Part of this I think it's because it started to be so tiresome to match everything in the same tone and I hated to mix the two.  If I'm wearing all silver and the purse happens to have gold hardware it makes me painfully aware of it and even uncomfortable.  I'm really trying to get over this but in the meantime I still enjoy wearing my all silver accessories like in this outfit.

Union Jack

I am a history buff.  Mostly, I love reading and learning about early modern European history, especially the Renaissance.  One particular country has become one of my favorites to learn about: Britain.  My visits to Barnes & Noble lately have involved a Starbucks Coffee Frappuccino and a book on some part of British history.  Most recent I was perusing through this book. (here)
This summer the British people are going to experience two very important events.  One is the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, which will be celebrating 60 years of Queen Elizabeth's reign over Britain.  Few monarchs have been able to achieve even 50 years on the throne so this Jubilee is set to be a special occasion!  The second event, a couple of months after the Jubilee, will be the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.  Needless to say, the British people are being treated to two amazingly patriotic events!
Vendors have already started to crank out their patriotic Union Jack wares so when I ran across this tee in a local H&M I grabbed it quickly for the hubby.  Little did he know I was going to be wearing it too!
I am also happy I finally got the chance to wear my new wedge sneakers that I told you about (here).  I paired the tee and the wedges with one of my other H&M purchases (here), the gray harem pants, to keep the vibe cool and casual!  Showing lots of love for my ALDO clutch but I just can't help it!
Enjoy every day!  (go get you Union Jack)

Leopard Mint

Leopard print has always been a part of my life and I love it.  I loved it even when it seemed that the only person in the world wearing leopard print was Peggy from "Married with Children."  My mother had several pieces of clothing that had leopard print and now I do as well.  My favorite colors to pair leopard print with are red and, obviously, black but I am not shy about putting it together with any other color as I have done here with these gorgeous mint green jeans.
The fickle weather here has us experiencing rain one day and sunshine the next so I did what us Southern California ladies learn to do so well: layer.  But who can complain about the weather when we have such gorgeously artistic displays of nature.  Check out the last shot and tell me I'm not right!?
All pics taken with iPhone.  (camera battery died)
Take time to enjoy every day!

Date

I have not been on a date in a very long time.  So long that I don't even remember the last date!  But that is about to change.  I put on this lovely flower dress that I purchased years ago to wear to a wedding.  I always meant to hem it a bit higher since I think it's a bit long for my petite frame but I never got around to it.  I could have chosen a bit higher heels but I didn't want to tower over my date.  The evenings have been chilly around here so I decided to grab this cute cardigan just in case I might need it.
I hope that I made my son proud as he escorted me to our first Mother/Son Dinner Dance!

Can you Spot the Neon Difference?

NO SCROLLING DOWN!
Take a look at these shoes I'm wearing.  Can you tell the difference?  Which is which?  Are they the same?
A while back I told you that I ordered a pair of neon pumps (here).  What I didn't tell you is that I ordered two pairs of neon pumps.
Now scroll down and see if you were right!

The shoe on the left is from ALDO and the shoe on the right is Qupid.  At first glance there doesn't seem to be any difference.

The ALDO pumps have a prettier shine that is not so easily detected in the pictures, a higher quality insert and an $80 price tag (free shipping).

The Qupid pumps have a bit duller shine, some "bunching" at the back of the shoe (see side facing picture), and a $32 price tag ($10 shipping from vendor).

Both have some issue at the bottoms seams that are not quite smooth.

BUT

The Qupid pumps came with this little card right on top of the box:

My first reaction was to not even touch these shoes and ship them right back.  But my curiosity won out and I wanted to compare them to the ALDO pumps.  My brain is still wrapping around this.  I've been wearing heels for a majority of my life and have ordered shoes online many a times but this little card is a first for me. There is NO question that the Qupid pumps are going back.  But the reason I did this little comparison is exactly this:  both pumps seem as twins, therefore these pics beg the question:  Are the ALDO shoes manufactured by the same company and should they also have this little card attached?
I would love to hear/read your comments on this one!
