While I enjoy curling up with a good book (see pic below) I also enjoy getting out with my family and going to different spots in Los Angeles and its outskirts. So I thought I would share this with you all in a series entitled "About Town". I love living in L.A. and thoroughly enjoy all the great things there are to do around here. With that said I want to introduce The Americana at Brand (here), an outside mall and residences built by David Caruso, the same developer that built The Grove. The central focus here is the dancing fountain and light show, designed by the same group that designed the animated fountain at The Bellagio in Las Vegas, and the Trolley (which my daughter loves).
We spent a wonderful day here walking around, enjoying the fountain, riding the trolley, having coffee and treats at Barnes & Noble and doing a bit of shopping. We also saw Madagascar 3 at the Pacific Theaters, which was such a great movie (in my opinion) and I cannot stop singing the "Afro Circus song". And of course no outing was complete without some Pinkberry before we hit the road home.
It was really hot so I decided to wear this loose and flowy top from Bebe that I bought I don't remember when but still had tags attached. I thought my red pants and the cute H&M cherry wedges (I showed them to you here) would complement this top perfectly. I do have to say that as cute as these wedges are they have no padding whatsoever on the inside so by the end of the day my feet were really hurting. To finish the outfit I carried this cute white bag I got at a local boutique because it recently came to my attention that I do not own a single all white handbag (gasp!). I wish this would have those cute intertwined double C's on the front but for $40 I'm not complaining.
Enjoy every day!

Such a bad picture from inside Barnes & Noble 3rd floor but I wanted to share the view... |
Just a small fraction of our summer reading material. |
I though this was cute, as if Mickey is saying: "Hey, (insert Mickey laugh) those are some cute shoes!" |

Hi doll, thanks for sharing a part of your city with us :) I was once in LA when I was 12 and don't remember anything. I like seeing an insiders view. Those are some really good books, will you possibly doing any reviews? The sandals are the sweetest pair, lurv! I like the looser fit of the blouse, its very pretty and perfect for summery hot days. Have yet to see Madagascar 3, sounds so cute. have a good start to the week!
ReplyDeleteI like this post hunni! I get to see LA (been every major city but LA) but more importantly, what's in those bags!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteI am soooooo jealous that you live in LA. When I was a kid my dream was to attend UCLA and study international business! But nope I stayed in Illinois, attending a state school on a full ride scholarship and I am STILL in IL!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, Love the top, I am glad you decided to put it to good use on a hot day, it has been 80-90, humid ewww! And ah-hem....aren't you going to show us what is in the bags??? Torture! Very nice white bag...had you not mentioned it, I would have guessed it was the CC version ;)
Sounds like my kind of outing! Me and hub can be in Kinokonuya (an equivalent to B&N) and just stay there for half a day, no joke! That Bebe top is fabulous, and the shoes, hah! major cuteness alert!

Your floral print wedges are SO cute! Sounds like you had such a wonderful day at the Americana! I see you picked up the 50 Shades series, hehe. I'm almost done with the last book and I'm going to be a little sad when I'm done reading it. Oh and I'm really jealous of your Pinkberry. I ate it all the time when I lived in NYC and there's none here in Jersey :(

Looks like you've given your credit card a run for its money :) And we've got another thing in common: I'm also a huge book worm (I simply love curling up on my couch with a great book) and a magazine hoarder :) I think we would be great friends :) Have you already started Fifty shades? If you have, what do you think about it? I would love to get your opinion! And of course, you look fabulous, as always. I'm especially in love with your shoes :) I think I'll make a quick trip to H&M tomorrow :)
