Since instituting the Copy Files here on my blog I have been busy dreaming of whose outfit and style I should emulate next. When I saw this picture of Michelle Willliams in New York while promoting her Marilyn Monroe movie last year I knew that this was next! I love the mix of cobalt blue and white with stripes added in the mix. To emulate her short hair I threw mine up in the sock-bun but I wasn't complaining since the temperature is hitting the low 90's around here,
But while I love the colors and the style Michelle's obvious lack of love for accessories had me at a loss. I have been fondly dubbed "the queen of accessorizing" by another fellow blogger but this was a true challenge. One admittedly I failed at a bit since I just couldn't stand it as I headed for the door to do the photoshoot and grabbed a pair of hoop earrings. My contribution to this lovely but accessory-less outfit.
I have also received a lot of questions asking where I got my neon yellow nail polish and it can be found at Sephora. Although is doesn't look so stellar right now on my chlorine-from-the-pool-eaten nails.
Enjoy every day! (wear some stripes)

ReplyDeleteoh hello gorgeous Dana, first of all i must say im so tickled pink by your sweet comment on my last post, my dress just like a little fancy teacup that is just so lovely im going around here telling everyone, i never thought of it like that, you have a great way with words, i love your outfit its just exactly like michelle williams fair dues to you doing without the accessories, im like you i cant leave the house without an arm full of bangles and all my rings on i literally feel naked without it all, wow you sound busy Dana, kids do that i know, iv none unfortunately (thanks to the cancer) but my sister lives right beside me and has two little ones so i see how exhausting they can be but also great fun, she is the one who is after getting the new puppy , so its a bit like a madouse at the moment. u poor thing not getting to bed till 5am, mind you im never in bed before 2ish, i love staying up late at night its a great time to do nails and tan and all the littel bits and bobs that have to be done, wow its hard being female at times.!! hope your having a great day and not working too much, i always look forward to your great posts Dana your the best, love and kisses my lovely friend, xxx leonie

Aw wow Dana, this look is spot on! I feel like I am looking at a 'Who Wore It Better' post, and my vote will definitely go to you! I prefer the plain striped top. Did you already have all these individual pieces in your closet? The bright blue jeans look amazing, I am tempted to get a pair now ;)

You recreated Michelle's look so well from head to toe! I agree that it's a simpler look for you (I know you love your jewels!) but it totally works!

ReplyDeleteAnd thanks so much for your latest comment, it was such a surprise to learn that you have family in Germany! Next time you come to visit them, you should definitely stop by Austria, too! (I still owe you that alfresco breakfast :) And everybody sprecht Deutsch here too :) You would be happy :) I have a constant love-hate relationship with this language, I would love to speak it, but I can't seem to make progress quickly enough :( Anyways, maybe you could send me your email adress, and we can continue this conversation :)
Hope you had a fabulous 4th of July!
