Copy Cat Files - Inspired by Michelle Williams

Since instituting the Copy Files here on my blog I have been busy dreaming of whose outfit and style I should emulate next.  When I saw this picture of Michelle Willliams in New York while promoting her Marilyn Monroe movie last year I knew that this was next!  I love the mix of cobalt blue and white with stripes added in the mix.  To emulate her short hair I threw mine up in the sock-bun but I wasn't complaining since the temperature is hitting the low 90's around here,

But while I love the colors and the style Michelle's obvious lack of love for accessories had me at a loss.  I have been fondly dubbed "the queen of accessorizing" by another fellow blogger but this was a true challenge.  One admittedly I failed at a bit since I just couldn't stand it as I headed for the door to do the photoshoot and grabbed a pair of hoop earrings.  My contribution to this lovely but accessory-less outfit.

I have also received a lot of questions asking where I got my neon yellow nail polish and it can be found at Sephora.  Although is doesn't look so stellar right now on my chlorine-from-the-pool-eaten nails.

Snake Charmer

I have been wanting to break out this great clutch ever since Hubby bought it for me.  I remembered I had this skirt somewhere packed away and found it quite easily.  Sometime I surprise myself at how carefully I pack some clothes away.  I love the asymmetric hem of this H&M top but don't quite like the fit of it.  I fidgeted in it all night.  I think a visit to the tailor will do it some good.
Some of you may remember these pumps from a few posts ago.  They are actually a brand new pair that the vendor replaced for me with an apology for the weird note card.
The pearls are a temporary replacement for the neon yellow necklace I wanted to wear but is in the accessory hospital (i.e. my Hubby is repairing) for a broken clasp.
The inspiration of this outfit are my two new cross bracelets which I will tell you more about in my next post.

Studs, Studs, & Studs

After a bout with a mild case of food poisoning I won and now I'm back!  Couldn't wait to share with you this great outfit framed by studs.  I've been so loving my orange nail polish and wanted to wear this jacket that I wore (here) and these great Sam Edelman sandals that I told you about (here) to show off the orange nail polish.  I rounded out the outfit with my favorite color turquoise pants to counteract the orange of the jacket and inject some color between the charcoal top and sandals.  I especially love the little studs detail on this top.  Since the studs gave the outfit a bit of an edge it just seemed right to wear my cross earrings from Forever 21 to sharpen that edge.  Still showing my love for this great ALDO clutch and the sock bun.
I got so many compliments on my collection of arm candy bracelets that I think I might pair these bracelets together more often.

Sunset Color: Orange, Blue & Pink

Summer vacation is upon us and as the heat picks up I look forward to days spent at the beach with the family and enjoying colorful sunsets together!  We enjoy sitting on the beach and watching the sun go down into the ocean all the while leaving a trail of orange, pink and blue sky behind.  And that's what I had in mind when putting together this outfit: the sunset colors of orange, blue and pink.  Having recently acquired these shorts, the shirt, necklace and amazing lipstick I wasted no time in wearing them out.

When Jessica Simpson was married to Nick Lachey and they starred together in their own reality show called the Newlyweds she carried this LV bag in white.  The planet was in love with this bag and the waiting list was miles long.  Of course my name was on the list that seemed never to end.  Just when it seemed I would burst with longing I received this bag for Christmas with the sweetest note from the sweetest friend.  I loved it well for quite a while and then put it gingerly away.  Last week during a mini-closet cleaning I happened upon it.  All the on trend colors of this summer season are represented on this bag and I'm loving the sweet memory of my friend.
