Living in a Nautical World


I could not wait to wear these gorgeous shorts from the Fashion Star at H&M designed by Kara Laricks.  I told  you about them (here).  Although they appear reddish in these pics they truly are a gorgeous orange color.  So I fooled around a bit with the colors on the pics to hopefully bring out the orange to no avail.  Wearing these for the first time I wanted to style them in a manner befitting such cute shorts.
My father was a mechanical engineer on a merchant ship and when I visited him on the ships he worked on I loved seeing all the sailors wearing their striped shirt and their dress uniforms at special occasions.  Needless to say I have a special love for all things nautical.
So the decision came easy to put together a nautical outfit with  the orange shorts at the forefront.  I paired them with this great top from F21 that I love and feel sorry I didn't get the red colored one as well.  The espadrille wedges I bought a few years ago from Target (never bought shoes from there before) when I just could not find any navy espadrilles anywhere on the planet.  Sadly the ties are not removable otherwise I like these shoes.  I believe that ALDO has some very similar ones for sale at the moment (without the ties) if you're interested.  The sunglasses were a gift from my son (Dollar Spot at Target).  The bag was a gift from The Hubby.

    Dana, I love this look! The shorts from the Kara Larricks line fits you incredibly well and the espadrilles look comfortable! Your comment on my post yesterday had me laughing...and as you continue to read my post...you'll be officially convinced that I am crazy. I love to buy nice things but not use them.....     I love nautical looks and hope to pull at least one look off this summer! I dunno why I don't play out my nautical side more, but rather live vicariously through others. Your bag compliments the overall look perfectly! And I really love the wedges. The only shoes I've purchased from Target are flats, and the most comfiest and cheapest of flats ($4!) at that. Target's great!
    I'm glad we became blog friends recently as well. :)))
