Union Jack

I am a history buff.  Mostly, I love reading and learning about early modern European history, especially the Renaissance.  One particular country has become one of my favorites to learn about: Britain.  My visits to Barnes & Noble lately have involved a Starbucks Coffee Frappuccino and a book on some part of British history.  Most recent I was perusing through this book. (here)
This summer the British people are going to experience two very important events.  One is the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, which will be celebrating 60 years of Queen Elizabeth's reign over Britain.  Few monarchs have been able to achieve even 50 years on the throne so this Jubilee is set to be a special occasion!  The second event, a couple of months after the Jubilee, will be the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.  Needless to say, the British people are being treated to two amazingly patriotic events!
Vendors have already started to crank out their patriotic Union Jack wares so when I ran across this tee in a local H&M I grabbed it quickly for the hubby.  Little did he know I was going to be wearing it too!
I am also happy I finally got the chance to wear my new wedge sneakers that I told you about (here).  I paired the tee and the wedges with one of my other H&M purchases (here), the gray harem pants, to keep the vibe cool and casual!  Showing lots of love for my ALDO clutch but I just can't help it!
Enjoy every day!  (go get you Union Jack)

  4. Did you ever read The Other Boleyn Girl? I know there was a bunch of controversy because the author did not stick to history. I liked the book though. I liked seeing historical characters come to life and it made them seem so much more real. Sometimes history can be overwhelming to learn (so many people with the same names!) but I think reading historical fiction is a good way to at least remember who was who and what they did.
